Introduction to Kaya-chikitsa

Welcome to all in this new exclusive blog on subject Kaya-Chikitsa.
This blog has been initiated as per direction and guidance of honorable Vice Chancellor Padmshree Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha Sir as a part of Academic & Clinical Excellency in modern era.  As time has changed now Ayurveda science has been shifted from Gurukal to Universities and now universities are becoming online Gurukul worldwide. With the basic purest theme of spreading the Academic & Clinical Excellency in current and upcoming generation, this blog is being initiated including all the Kayachikitsa Teachers of Guj. Ayu. University, Jamnagar, Gujarat. I hope active and cumulative efforts of all Kayachikitsa Teachers of GAU, Jamnagar, Gujarat will not only guide the all students of university but also worldwide knowledge seekers / Ayurved Professionals of Kayachikitsa branch.
Following contribution will be done by this blog.

01. To provide essential guidelines to UG/PG students studying the subject Kayachikitsa
02. To provide latest update in the field of subject.
03. To provide a platform to discuss the syllabus and its various topics.
04. To share academic problems/difficulties of subject.
05. To provide a platform to share clinical success stories for the welfare of upcoming generation of Ayurveda science.
06. To discuss untouched various treatment modalities and clinical aspects of ancient Ayurveda.
07. To discuss the newer types of diseases with different newer names as per Ayurveda Aspect with management to give benefit / guidance to ground level working unit ‘the ayurvedic physician’.
08. To discuss new area of researches in subject.
09. To provide an interactive platform for the students, practitioners, research professionals on complicated/ less understood aspect of the subject.

The subject Kayachikitsa is the most important subject of Astanga Ayurveda. Primarily it was the biggest / largest branch of two important clinical fraternities / communities representing the medicinal aspect of science apart from surgical school. It had been divided in various branches before Samhita-era. Still today, it is the biggest and largest branch of Ayurveda science despite the separation of subject Panchakarma that eventually is inseparable. The subject ‘Kaya-Chikitsa’ itself includes various modern sub-branches in which modern science has designed and run specialty as well as super specialty courses. These are as follows;

02. Chest and Respiratory
05. Skin & STD
06. Sexology
12. Genetic disorders etc. and many more.

As it can be understood that U.G. students are just getting the basics of subject and introduction of various modern subject branches of said modern science. P.G. Students are too only ‘mastering in certain area of subject because of vast field of the subject. So, as per the corrent era it is the demand of society that area of specialization should be preferred among the subject experts too, to serve humanity and classical theme. The vastness or broadness of subject needs constant interaction among the subject expert academicians cum clinician. This may lead to develop various regularities and uniformity in academic as well clinical area in various attached Ayurveda Colleges of Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar, Gujarat. Not only undergraduate level but also Post gradual and PhD level for the welfare of upcoming generation of Ayurveda.
                                                                                                                           Thanks.

Case-presentation: Management of Various Types of Kushtha (Skin-disorders) by Prof. M. B. Gururaja

Admin note:  Prof. M.B. Gururaja Sir is well-known Academician as well as Clinician in south western India who has very vast experience in treatment of various Dermatological disorders . He regularly share cases in 'Kaysampraday group'. This time he shared cases in bulk and Ayu. practitioners and students are advised to understand individual basic samprapti of patient as per ' Rogi-roga-pariksha-vidhi ' whenever they get opportunity to treat such patients rather than just using illustrated drugs in the post. As number of cases are very high so it's difficult to frame samprapti of each case. Pathyakram mentioned/used should also be applied as per the condition of 'Rogi and Rog'. He used the drugs as per availability in his area and that to be understood as per the ingredients described. It's very important that he used only ' Shaman-chikitsa ' in treatment.  Prof. Surendra A. Soni ®®®®®®®®®®®®®®®®®®®®®®® Case 1 case of psoriasis... In ...
