I think it can be considered as असात्म्य द्रुत देशांतर एवं गत्यांतर वातप्रकोप...vaat ka swabhav visham hai...aur kisi akasmik vaishyamya sthiti mai jana vaat prakop karwata hai...and hence fatigue and extreme tiredness are d cardinal symptoms of jet lag...light therapy--melanin balance--आतप चिकित्सा is propagated for fast adaptability...युक्तरथ बस्ति can be a solution to it ..

Yes, वातप्रकोप due to यान. Changes in temperature, humidity etc. may affect Svedavaha Srotas. Also Nidra Viparyay may be there. Specially चल गुण of Vata.

Shadbindu Tel Nasya gives immediate effect to combat Jetlag, I have tried it in many frequent long-distance fliers with quick response. Jetlag is Sangyadushti and Tikhna Nasya acts as Sangyaprabodhak.
Try Shadbindu Nasya on yourself after a lonh flight or late night sleep and see the difference in sensorium.
[05/03 7:42 AM] Vaidya Neelesh :
That is a most useful information Dr Katoch. I will definitely try this. I hate jetlags. And a massage would not work as well. Try it Dr Neelesh and tell, whatever response you would have, to the group.

Message is sangyasaadkar, not uttejak. SB Tel reaches out instantly to higher sense centres as we call shringatak marma in Ayurveda- the seat of sangya.

There is a close distance between hypothalamus and optic chiasma..so sun light have direct effects on hypothalamus..hypothalamus associated with pituitary gland.. Hypothalamus is controller of circadian rhythm..so sunlight(with moon and air) have indirect effects on our circadian rhythm..this circadian rhythm slightly disturb during travelling by air at long distance...this shows how sun ,moon and air play important role in human Physiology...So in jet leg symptomatic treatment should be done..Jet leg is natural phenomena, not pathilogical.

After all it results from some imbalance, which we in Ayurveda call Dosha Sanchaye.

We r solely the part of solar system and our body is adjusfed to the solar system and solar system is adjusted to milky way.... and finally everything with universe. Hence there is no controversy in Loka purusha samyatha both in Ayurveda n modern science.

Though the circadian rhythm gets affected and is the cause of jet lag, based on the principle & concept of नासा ही शिरसो द्वारं तेन तद्व्याप्य हन्ति तान् ।।
And based on the fact of involvement of Shrngataka marma involved in nourishing the akshi,nāsā, karna & jihva as is observed by Ac.Sushruta...
And based upon the fact that the confusion of chitta to adjust to the circadian rhythm to be a cause in altering the jnānāgni (could this be a state of pittā ?), the instant jet lag caused by the travel as suggested by revered Vaidya S. K. Khandel ji will it not have the good effect of nourishing the sensory organs controlled by Shrngataka and in reducing the altered physiological state of pittā (sādhaka) ?
For the adviced Sadbindut tailam has its fortified effect in pittaja shiro vikārās.
