All these formulations have Kuchla as the key ingredient to check chal & shithil guna of prakupit vaat. That is why useful in jeeran vishma jvara, neurasthenia (स्नायु दौर्बल्य), lowered cardiac output (क्षीण व्यान वात), neuromuscular weekness (माँसावृतवात), nocturnal enuresis (शय्यामूत्र)।
Dr. Harish Verma USA: Yashtimadhu help in retention of sodium and potassium.

Side effects of licorice are tiredness, increased blood pressure, low blood potassium levels, irregular menstrual cycle, headache, decreased libido, increased blood pressure, and increased fluids in the body.

: Prolonged use of large doses (>50g/day) of the drug for extended periods (>6 weeks) may increase water accumulation, causing swelling of the hands and feet. Sodium excretion is reduced and potassium excretion is increased. Blood pressure may rise.

Sir 50gm per day is not a therapeutic dose for madhuyasthi. So we have no need to have a warning on the medicine containing mulethi.

Very true. Ashwagandha also acts as vasodilator, which leads to many advantages. Due to its Vasodiator property Ashwagandha is containdicated in bleeding disorders, which most of the companies in India do not mention on the products containg Ashwagandha.
GNC in US & Canada mention this on their label.

Mode of action of Ayurvedic drugs in low BP varies from drug to drug. Kesar and Paan enhances myocardiac contracility so useful in CCF and cardiac asthenia induced low systolic pressure, kuchla increases peripheral resistance so useful in low diastolic pressure, coffee improves haemodynamic response.

for treating hypotension, Why can't you try Coffee? If patient doesn't like it can be given as basti or can be added in basti dravya. I am using this for a decade now after the advice received from one of the another boss Vaidya Tapan Vaidya sir, from Ahmedabad.
