Case presentation : Management of Diabetic gangrenous foot ulcer by Prof. M. B. Gururaja.

[10/6, 2:58 PM] Prof MB Gururaja:

*I would like to share a success story*

A male aged 70+ having  uncontrollable blood sugar landed with diabetic foot ulcer gangrenous advised amputation  of foot ......But patient was not interested for that surgery wanted to explore Ayurveda modality of treatment ....So I examined the case , explained the complication and prognosis, took necessary consent for treatment...then Started Ayurveda treatment ....

My objective in this case was to reduce blood sugar, improve blood circulation and oxygen supply to affected area, avoid as much as possible necrosis of tissues, and septicemia.

Initially it was very tough ...

Almost 30 days up and down in symptoms and of course gangrene of distal phalanx of second toe...
But by the end of 130 days he recovered very well ....Wound healed without any complications and even with out skin graft surgery...

Here by I am posting the pictures in a sequence

Jai Ayurveda ,

Dr. M B Gururaja

[10/6, 3:08 PM] Prof. Surendra A. Soni:

Many many thanks to Acharya Gururaja Sir !!
Please give details of case.

🙏🌹😊

[10/6, 3:11 PM] Prof Hariom Gupta, Vadodara:

Well done Sir....

[10/6, 3:11 PM] Prof MB Gururaja:

In this case ...
I used ...
Guggulu tiktaka kashaya
Syp. Cardorium plus
Cap. Viscovas
To achieve optimum blood supply and avoid necrosis.

Cap. Diapent to controll blood sugar as his blood sugar was above 400 mgs...

Externally Murivenna dhara and dressing with jatyadi ghrita.

[10/6, 3:12 PM] Prof. Surendra A. Soni:

What a systematic presentation of images. If you could add date then it would be great.

🙏🌹
[10/6, 3:14 PM] Prof. Satish Panda K. C:

Please give details regarding dressing Sir.🙏🏻

[10/6, 3:15 PM] Prof MB Gururaja:

I have used full dose of cap. Diapent 3-3-3 and strict diet control to reduce blood sugars and I could able to achieve it by 20 to 25 days of treatment...
Regularly washed the wound with hydrogen peroxide and betadine in the first month of treatment and followed by warm murivenna dhara for 30 minutes then bandage with jatyadi ghrita ...

Internally all those medicines mentioned earlier ..

This started to show some hope after one month of treatment ...By the completion of nearly 130 days ...This stage reached ...

But one sad part of it is,  (in the first month of the treatment itself ) distal phalanx of second toe turned gangrenous and that portion could not be survived ...

[10/6, 3:18 PM] Prof MB Gururaja:

Warm Murivenna dhara and jatyadi ghrita bandaging done almost 120+ days...

[10/6, 5:25 PM] Dr Ankur Sharma, Delhi:

Excellent clinical work 👌👍🙏

[10/6, 5:36 PM] Prof MB Gururaja:

In this case I didn't opt for panchavalkala dhavan because already there is hampered blood circulation to the affected area and gangrene was setting in ....panchavalkala is sthambhak .....In this case what was required was opening up of capillaries to improve blood circulation ...So warm murivenna taila was selected ..

[10/6, 5:39 PM] Dr. Arun Rathi, Akola:

*That's Wonderful Clinical Applied Aspect.*

Excellent sir 👍🏻👍🏻

I hv seen almost same pt. some 10 years ago, was treated by some other vaidhya from Bhopal. He used Jalauka also, initially.
for dressing kajjali with jatyadi tail. and other oral medicine.

Surgeon from my college, (MS - BHU)
made him frighten by saying same words of western surgeon.

I kept their hope high, by Santvna.

The pt. is still in satisfactory condition.
Vaidhya who treated, was known to me. he said,  it took weeks to get rid of the foul smell of the wound, from his clinic.

Case-presentation: Management of Various Types of Kushtha (Skin-disorders) by Prof. M. B. Gururaja

Admin note:  Prof. M.B. Gururaja Sir is well-known Academician as well as Clinician in south western India who has very vast experience in treatment of various Dermatological disorders. He regularly share cases in 'Kaysampraday group'. This time he shared cases in bulk and Ayu. practitioners and students are advised to understand individual basic samprapti of patient as per 'Rogi-roga-pariksha-vidhi' whenever they get opportunity to treat such patients rather than just using illustrated drugs in the post. As number of cases are very high so it's difficult to frame samprapti of each case. Pathyakram mentioned/used should also be applied as per the condition of 'Rogi and Rog'. He used the drugs as per availability in his area and that to be understood as per the ingredients described. It's very important that he used only 'Shaman-chikitsa' in treatment.  Prof. Surendra A.
